Working as a Taxi Driver in Japan
Taxi driving in Japan is currently a very rewarding and comfortable profession. However, to work as a taxi driver, you need a special residency status and a professional driver's license. Qualifications Required to Work as a Taxi Driver in Japan
1.Specified Visa Category 46
To obtain this visa, you currently need to meet the following requirements:
* Have graduated from a 4-year university or graduate school in Japan and have been awarded a degree.
* Have passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test Level N1 or achieved a score of 480 or higher on the BJT Business Japanese Proficiency Test.
Please note that these requirements are expected to be relaxed soon. Once relaxed, you will be eligible to work as a taxi driver if you have a valid driver's license (obtained in any country) and have passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test at Level N3 or higher. If you believe you meet these upcoming requirements, please don't hesitate to contact us.
2.Driver's License
You must have held a valid driver's license for at least two years, regardless of whether it was issued in Japan or another country.
3.Japanese Taxi Driver Qualification
You can obtain this qualification after joining our company. You will need to study Tokyo's geography and the Road Transportation Law, and pass an exam. The exam is available in both Japanese and English.

Please note that we cannot assist with obtaining the Specified Visa Category 46. You will need to consult with an administrative scrivener or other qualified professional for assistance.
